Ingredients for Homemade Dough

Do you remember making my pizza dough? It’s my favorite dough for homemade pizza. It is easy to make and the same dough that we use for our ham & cheese pocket recipes. It can be used to make pepperoni pizza rolls, garlic knots and cheesy breadsticks.

Hot pocket cooking instructions !Here are the essential ingredients to make the dough.

Red Star Platinum yeast is what I use. This instant yeast gives me the best results. Because of its precise formula, platinum yeast is great froggy jump exercise  because it strengthens your dough and makes working in yeast easy. Hot pocket cooking instructions you will notice and taste the difference. For years, I have been a fangirl of yeast! Only one standard packet of yeast is needed (2 and 1/4 teaspoons).

Water: I tried this recipe with different amounts water. The perfect amount is between 1 and 1/3 cups. Warm water is best to reduce the rise time. It should be between 100 and 110 degrees F. Any temperature above 130oF will kill yeast.

Flour: This recipe calls for unbleached white all-purpose flour. Bleaching flour can strip some of its protein, which can affect the amount of water that the flour absorbs.

Oil: Add a couple of Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil to enhance the flavor of the dough.

Salt: Salt gives you the necessary flavor.

  • Divide the dough. Divide the dough into two equal pieces. Then, cut each piece in quarters. For 8 homemade pockets, you’ll need 8 pieces of dough.
  • Form the dough. Each piece of dough should be flattened into a rectangle measuring approximately 4×6 inches. Place the dough on prepared baking pans.
  • Add the cheese and ham. To enclose the dough, place the cheese and ham on one side.
  • Pin the edges. Use a fork or a pen to seal the pockets.
  • Use egg wash to clean the tops and sides. The egg wash browns the tops and gives them a beautiful sheen.
  • Make 2-3 slits in the tops.

Bake
